GREEN FUTURE PROJECT
Inspired by the increasingly high demand of energy and pressure of environment issues, Green Future is a project designed for maximum and effective use of by-products after processing of bamboo luong to create clean energies and new produces that protect environment and improve living standards of people in poor mountainous areas in the West of Thanh Hoá province.

With participation of:
• People’s committees, technical bureaus, relating agencies
• Farmer households in Quan Hóa and Bá Thước districts
• Hadeva, Corudes, Areca, Sông Hồng centre
• Centres of new technology transfer
Objectives
• Develop new market opportunities, increase income for small local producers and companies by using by-products of bamboo luong processing chain
• improve capacities of local NGOs and enterprises; develop sustainable techniques through diversification of reusable energies
Activities
•1. Trial of reusable energies
• Electricity from sawdust
• Biogas unit
• Small hydroelectricity
2. Produces from sawdust:
• Micro organic fertilizers
• Mushroom cultivation: shell mushroom, wood’ear, Linh Chi
• Charcoal bars
3. Enhancements of awareness on energy-saving practices, environment protection:
• Production of wood-saving cooking stoves
• Communication of awareness raising for community on environment protection
• Training foir local NGOs
4. Connection of fundamental activities and global Clean Development Mechanisms (CDM), in 3 directions:
• reduction of carbon emissions by using energy-saving stoves
• combination with plantation of bamboo luong
• prevention of deforestation and degradation

• Small local workshops and enterprises
• Local NGOs and agencies
• Collaborators, commune and district officials
